Monica Salgado was born and raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Her family relocated to Virginia in 2007. During high school, after completing an internship working in retail, she discovered a passion for customer service and achieving sales and customer engagement goals. She attended Tidewater Community College, where she focused on completing her Social Sciences degree.
While in college, she began her career in the maritime industry in 2016 as an Administrator, where she quickly developed a strong interest in Human Resources and has since continued to grow and develop her HR expertise. Monica Salgado is a dedicated Human Resources professional with experience supporting employee relations, benefit administration, compliance, recruiting, and organizational operations.
She plays an integral role in assisting employees and leadership by ensuring HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with company goals. In addition to her HR responsibilities, Monica has experience supporting the Safety Department, including tracking and maintaining employee certifications, coordinating safety documentation, and supporting injury reporting and Workers’ Compensation processes.
Her involvement helped ensure accurate records, timely reporting, and adherence to workplace safety requirements. Monica is known for her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to supporting both employees and operational teams. She takes pride in contributing to a safe, compliant, and well-supported workplace environment. In her free time, Monica loves to travel and spend time at the beach.
